Damaris is an experienced bilingual psychotherapist with 8+ years of experience. She is fluent in the Spanish and English language. She graduated from Christian Theological Seminary with her Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is also credentialed in several other specialties such as: EMDR (Eye Movement Reprocessing Desensitization), CSAYC (Credentialed Sexually Abusive Youth Clinician), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Gottman level 2. She has extensive experience working with kids, teens, and families who have experienced trauma, life transitions, behavioral issues, relational issues, all forms of abuse, and more. She has a passion for leading groups and has experience with a variety of specific issues such as substance abuse and cancer survivors. She is very involved with the Spanish-speaking community. She continues to educate and inform the community through psychoeducation by providing psychoeducational workshops on the importance of mental health and how to manage struggles impacting the Spanish-speaking community. Her overall care and regard for the consideration of her client’s needs, open up a great opportunity for offering culturally competent therapeutic care.
